Color Meanings Of Roses

What are the color meanings of roses? Do they really symbolize something or is that just a misconception? Many people have learned just what the different color of roses stand for. And, you can learn it to. The next time you pick up a bouquet to give as a gift to someone, you will know just what it means! Rose color meaning is of course only what you want it to be. If you enjoy a white rose the best, don’t worry about the meaning, just enjoy it! Here are some of the meanings of our favorite flowers:

Red: Everyone knows the red ones. These are some of the most enchanting because they can stand for so many different things. They are most of the time, considered to represent love and romance. When you give a single red rose to someone, you are making a simple statement of, “I love you” to them. They can also mean beauty, courage, passion, and congratulations!

Dark Red: Unconscious beauty.

White: White almost always stands for things that are pure. Here, they can stand for purity, silence, youthfulness, and innocence. A bridal white rose stands for happy love.

Pink: Another common rose, it means appreciation, happiness, gentleness, admiration. A darker pink will mean gratitude. A light pink will stand for sympathy, grace, joy, sweetness.

Yellow: Yellow shows off its joy, gladness, friendship and represents a new beginning. If it has a red tip, it can mean falling in love.

Orange: Enthusiasm and desires!

Peach: Peach represents appreciation, sincerity, and an invitation to get together.

Two roses that have meanings but do not actually exist in a true color are blue and black. Black represents death and a farewell to a loved one. Blue represents unattainable or impossible things. Again, these roses do not truly exist in these colors in nature although you can find them if they are dyed.

So, if you are decorating for your wedding or planning to give a bouquet of flowers to a loved one, consider the true meanings behind the color of the rose. As you can see some can show a deep love, an everlasting promise and a significant showing of joy and happiness. They are beautiful flowers and even if you do not intend to have them represent something, be careful as someone who knows the meanings may just interpret your feelings differently! Choose your arrangements carefully!
